Validated By Science, Approved By Runners
To see if the Nike ZoomX Invincible Run could help reduce injury, Nike commissioned a study through North Star Sports Medicine Research where runners followed a 12-week variable training program. Based on the results, they’re on the right track.
Testing shows* that the Nike ZoomX Invincible Run reduces injuries at a similar rate as the Nike React Infinity Run, which, in a separate study, was shown to reduce injuries by 52% compared to the Nike Air Zoom Structure 22, Nike's traditional motion control shoe.
*In an external study of 226 men and women during a 12-week variable training program conducted in 2019, the Nike React Infinity Run reduced running injuries by 52% compared to the Nike Air Zoom Structure 22 (injury = missing 3 or more consecutive runs due to running related pain). Participants reported on progress and injuries via online questionnaires. Our study found that 30.3% of Nike Air Zoom Structure 22 runners experienced an injury but only 14.5% of Nike React Infinity Run runners experienced an injury. In a second study conducted in 2020 using the same protocol, Nike ZoomX Invincible Run showed no statistically significant difference in the incidence of injuries over the previous year’s Nike React Infinity Run model.
Shoes That Stand The Test
Nike engineered this outsole pattern to be long-lasting and durable based on the way runners wear out their shoes.
Spring In Every Stride
Part of what makes this shoe feel so comfortable is the midsole. It’s made from Nike ZoomX foam, their most responsive and soft foam—and they used a lot more of it than you’d find in most everyday Nike running shoes. More foam means you need more stability, so Nike added a rocker shape that will roll you through a fluid foot strike, and made the base wider at the toe and the heel.
Comfortable, Confident Fit
Runners asked Nike designers for cushioning in the upper, too. The result is a plush collar below the ankle to help reduce friction in such a sensitive area.
Luc Larson, GM Heartbreak ChicagoThe Nike Invincible has struck the perfect balance of cushion for time on feet with bounce to propel you forward. It's a shoe that makes me look forward to clocking miles.
