“I’m a three-time Olympic champion. I’ve achieved World Championship titles. I thought, What else?"- Faith Kipyegon
Sometimes, when there’s nothing left to prove, the pursuit shifts. It’s no longer about ambition, it’s about imagination. Not what else can I win? But what barriers can I break?
This summer, Faith Kipyegon, the most dominant middle-distance runner of her generation, is chasing what was once thought to be impossible.
No woman has ever run a mile in under four minutes. The “sub-4” is a number wrapped in myth. A benchmark of male athleticism. A line that separates the legendary from the merely fast.
“I want this attempt to say to women, ‘You can dream and make your dreams valid,’” she says. “This is the way to go as women to push boundaries and dream big.”
On June 26th, at the Stade Charléty in Paris, Faith will toe the line with a vision to pull the impossible into the present.
