Girls Who Play Sports Become Women Who Lead

Girls Who Play Sports Become Women Who Lead

If you’ve ever played sports, you know it shapes who you are — and the stats back it up.

A survey by EY and espnW found that 94 percent of women in C-suite positions played sports, with 52 percent competing at the collegiate level. In this episode, I sit down with Morolake Akinsoun, Olympic gold medalist and now Head of Athlete Relations at Grand Slam Track, an exciting new elite track event series.

Morolake talks about how her experience in sports helped her build the skills that transitioned her from Olympic podium to her new role.

Check out the latest episode of Unexpected Curves to hear what happens when you let her play.

Unexpected Curves is a weekly podcast hosted by Marielle Hall, diving into the big ideas surrounding women’s sports. As a runner, athletics will be front and center, but sometimes you have to go outside the lane to see the bigger picture. No topic is off-limits, and we'll be taking a lot of left turns to find the right answers. Nothing wrong with a few curves 😉.  Tune in every Thursday for new episodes on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
