Heartbreak has helped make Boston’s running culture feel current without losing the seriousness that has always defined it. Boston has a long memory when it comes to running: the races, clubs, coaches, rivalries, and people who care about splits and results, even on an ordinary Tuesday. Heartbreak understands that tradition, but it has also given more people new ways into the sport. You can care about performance and still care about what you wear, who you meet, and what running feels like outside the workout. That balance is what makes Heartbreak important to the greater Boston area.
Heartbreak by Running Supply brings that balance into the store. The residency brings together a rotating mix of apparel, gear, and brands at the vanguard of running. The goal is less a conventional retail display and more a collected point of view on what running looks like right now, both during and after the run.
Alongside the refreshed gear, we’ll build community around the residency through our opening party, race viewings, and conversations with local legends about their experiences running in the greater Boston area. It’s a way to talk about where the sport is going while staying connected to the people and traditions that shaped Boston running.
