Distance first opened its doors in Lyon in 2018. Today, the brand has six stores across four countries, a racing team, a technical apparel line, and a unique outpost in Iten, Kenya.
The Iten location was built to create a direct connection with the local running community, making quality running product available at accessible prices.
The store also employs local staff and operates on a limited schedule, giving employees time to train and participate in the running culture that surrounds them.
Distance believes that running is for everyone, and that same ethos runs through their stores, community, apparel, and now their collaboration with Nike in the Vomero Plus and Vaporfly 4.
Inspired by the first running shoes worn by Distance co-founder Guillaume Pontier, the collaboration brings both brands back to where their stories began: the track. Drawing from early-2000s silhouettes like the Nike Skylon and Nike Streak, the collection is a celebration of running’s history, culture, and most importantly, its people.
