Not A Marathoner This Year, But Still A Proud Chicagoan | Chicago Tribune

Heartbreak's Speed Run sessions have powered runners all over the country throughout this pandemic every Tuesday morning since June. Here's writer/runner Kerry Kasper in the Chicago Tribune:

"Heartbreak Hill Running Company, a running club near my home in Lincoln Park, proved a saving grace by offering weekly early-morning audio-guided speed runs throughout the summer. Dipping under a 7-minute pace one June day, I started to wonder how fast I could run a mile these days, now a 38-year-old mom of two and far from my grade school track days.

A friend who ran in college offered to pace me, and we set — and met — the goal of breaking a 6:15 mile by Labor Day."
