Last night, we had the honor of celebrating Pali High at their end-of-year XC banquet. The room was full of seniors, parents, coaches, and a team that refused to give up on each other.
All night long, one word kept coming up: resilience. And right beside it: friendship. This team didn’t have to have a season. Not after the fires, not after losing their school, but they chose to show up anyway.
They got creative, leaned on each other, and found ways to keep their community alive. Whether it meant turning an old Sears basement into a locker room or piecing together workouts wherever they could, they kept showing up, not just to train, but to have fun, laugh, and stay connected when everything around them felt uncertain. In a season defined by challenge, they worked together to protect the one thing that mattered most: their community.
Congrats to our City Section Champions on an unforgettable year. You earned every moment of celebration!
