Chicago has a rhythm all its own. The roar of the crowd at Soldier's Field. The crack of the bat at a Sox game. The rhythm of footsteps along the lakefront trail. The hum of the ‘L’ as it rumbles over the tracks. Beneath it all, is the pulse of house music, born in the early 1980s as an act of resistance, release, and rebirth. DJs like Frankie Knuckles, spinning at the legendary Warehouse, layered drum machines, synthesizers, and extended mixes into hypnotic beats that made the city move.
Just like those rhythms, marathon training builds momentum. Effort, resilience, and flow are all layered into a cadence that carries you forward.
We’re capturing that energy in the Heartbreak Chicago Jacket. This jacket is Chicago through and through. Its satin body flashes electric blue while bold red and white athletic cuffs round out the colors of the flag. Bold sleeve embroidery tells the tale of two big Chicago stories. On the left, the world records set in the city that cement it as the fastest marathon course on the planet. On the right, the disc size & rpms of records are a nod to the birthplace of house music. Varsity-inspired city lettering and the Battleshield heart sit proudly on the chest, while the interior pocket has the reminder: “Run Hard, Risk Heartbreak.” On the back, our 2025 Chicago training theme, Take Me Higher, is written in flowing script. This jacket is a statement of flight and sound. From the run to the rhythm, Chicago takes you higher.

Our 2025 Chicago training theme, Take Me Higher, comes straight from the dance floors of Chicago’s legendary house music scene. On packed dance floors, DJs lifted entire rooms, chanting and sampling words like “take me higher” as both invitation and affirmation. That same ethos lives in running. A tempo run or a long run builds the same way as a DJ set. Steady, rhythmic, carrying you from struggle to release, until suddenly you’re lifted by the energy of those around you.
