When Joan Benoit Samuelson surged to gold at the 1984 Summer Olympics, she inspired a city. LA Marathon was born from that moment just two years later.
This year, race day lands on International Women’s Day. To honor that legacy, we’re bringing together a collective of women to lead the energy charge and help carry runners all the way home. Las Fotos Project will be on site capturing photos, DJ Faucet will be bringing the sound, and GORP Girls will be out in full force helping bring runners home.
The cheer zone is open to everyone. Come be part of the energy. Time to get loud!
