The Vaporfly 4 is a lean, mean, mile-eating machine. We trimmed weight in the midsole, outsole, and upper from the Vaporfly 3 without sacrificing performance. The result is a lighter, more propulsive all-around racing shoe that’s trusted from the mile to the marathon.

Full Speed
A full-length carbon fiber Flyplate provides a propulsive, racing feel. A higher angle of the plate and lower heel-to-toe drop compared to the Vaporfly 3 give you an improved propulsive feel.
More Energy Return
Nike ZoomX, our most responsive foam, just got faster. Running from heel to toe, it unlocks even more energy return than before, thanks to a slight midsole reduction, giving you a bouncy, feathery feel.
Less Weight
Engineered mesh offers improved comfort and a disappearing feel on your foot. It helps reduce the weight of the shoe while supplying a more consistent fit. And we reduced the size of the heel and tongue, saving even more weight.
Light Feel
See how the midsole bulges out by the heel? We designed it that way to help reduce weight on the inside of the foot to give you a more stable ride. We reduced the weight of the outsole by using a thinner rubber compared to the Vaporfly 3. You still get the same reliability, just without any unnecessary thickness.
What's New About the Vaporfly 4?
We took a race-car approach when updating the Vaporfly 4, making many minor tweaks so you can pursue major gains. We trimmed weight in the midsole, outsole and upper without sacrificing performance.
