Recently, we caught up with LoveSquad athlete and University of Iowa sprinter, Landon Fontenot, to discuss his inspiration behind his "Chase Your Dreams" photoshoot, his journey to becoming a Division 1 track and field athlete, and his thoughts on the power of content creation. Here's what he had to say:
The Inspiration Behind "Chase Your Dreams"
For Landon, the idea behind the shoot was simple: "Chase Your Dreams." He wanted to capture the energy, determination, and focus that comes with pursuing your goals. "I focused on the idea of running towards your goals and aspirations, capturing the energy and determination that comes with it. It’s all about positivity, motivation, and the journey to achieving what you set your mind to." For Landon, this shoot isn’t just about running—it’s about the mindset behind it. Whether it's on the track or in life, Landon believes in the importance of staying focused, motivated, and positive. It's a message that resonates with everyone, whether you're an athlete chasing a PR or someone working toward personal growth.
Landon's Journey: From high school track to to the University of Iowa
Originally from Louisiana, Landon moved to Houston, Texas, in order to chase his ultimate dreams of competing at the highest level of collegiate track and field. "I moved states to seek a better life and better opportunities," he shares.
After his high school track career, Landon shares that he, "chose Iowa because of the coaches and the city-to-country vibe Iowa City gives off. It reminds me of Louisiana." For Landon, sports have always been a central part of life. But his journey to Iowa wasn’t just about natural talent—it was about faith and hard work. "God and hard work got me to the next level of track and field," he says. "I will continue to conquer whatever trials and tribulations come my way."
Beyond the Track: The Power of Content Creation
For many athletes, the world sees them only as competitors. But for Landon, there’s so much more to life outside of his sport. "As an athlete, we are seen as only athletes. Not many people know the outside life we live. I think content creating is so much fun to show that I’m not just an athlete, but I’m someone who enjoys other things outside my sport—fashion, fishing, hunting, traveling."
This is where LoveSquad has made a difference for Landon. As part of the community, he’s found a group of like-minded athletes who not only excel in their sports but also share a passion for creating content. "The LoveSquad has made a way for me to join a community of different athletes that also have a love for making content. Coming together as a group of people and having different ideas is such a great and fun environment."
