Around the Boston Marathon, we created a photo & experience project called Head Check / Heart Check with our friends at Concepts. First, to capture the mindset of the racers the day before: the calm confidence, introspection, & steadiness. We set up a studio at Heartbreak Newton and invited athletes to show up. Here are the shots. That was called Head Check.
After the race, athletes were invited to Concepts for the "Heart Check" portrait, a full color and full emotion version that captures the joy, the relief, and the exaltation on display after finishing.
