Joggling with John | Not All World Records Are Created Equal

John Baker, an avid time runner, Heartbreaker Flyer, and 2:32 marathoner, picked up juggling in the pandemic. For him, it felt like a natural next step to combine it with his running. He did some digging on the records for the 5K and 10K (these are unofficial, community recorded, not Guinness certified) and decided they were within striking distance. John got training, then rallied the team: Fitch Henry on logistics, organization, & video capture, Cole Bolduc on still photos, and Josh Mercado on live stream & digital MC.

The stage was set at Harry Downes track in Brookline, MA. A high school football team, unaware of what was about to go down, became spectators along side Heartbreakers, John's faith community, and co-workers.

The target: 16:40 for 5000m. The previous record: 16:51. 

The outcome: 16:56. A close miss but a day the team won't soon forget. Watch the short form recap below:
