Last Lap Cornerstore started as a convenience store for runners. A place that was founded on the idea that a run shop should be located where you live & where you run, in your community, for your community. Ian Gonzalez saw a need for this place on Chicago's South Side and decided to go ahead and make it himself. Here's Ian on the shop:
"Leave the big box store in the past and come to your friendly neighborhood corner store for runners. We are Black/Latino owned and based out of Chicago, IL. The South Side is our home! We have seen you running down King Drive and through Washington Park and smiled at you during stretches at the track on 39th and Cottage Grove. We have waved at you while running past on the Lakefront and now we are happy to be in your home helping to get you ready for your run or recovering from it."
