Peak week for Boston Marathon training closed out with an exceptional day for our Longest Long Run powered by Nike Running. Hundreds were on hand to hammer through our challenging signature 10 mile Firehouse course - twice in a row. It's a route that we run almost every week all year long but it carries extra energy for the "big one".
Coach Dan gave the runners a meaningful send off reminding athletes of the significance of this run (it's both a dress rehearsal and a single training run) In other words, don't make too much of it doesn't go well and, if you nail it, bank that confidence and move on. He offered some mental checks and practical tips to consider on the course. Finally, he reminded them that this run will be hard but, as marathoners, we choose the hard thing "embrace that and connect with your why."
