When inspiration feels elusive, Fidelis turns to photo walks as a way to refocus and refine his creative process. A photo walk is an exercise in slowing down. It’s a time to hone composition, light, and perspective. When you do this it can transform a simple urban moment into something more layered.
The alleyway leading to a parked car in the distance adds depth, and the muted green tones create an eerie atmosphere. The gate, half-open yet locked, might otherwise go ignored, but through the lens, it becomes a metaphor: for access and barriers, for the choices we make, for the spaces we’re invited into and the ones we push our way through.

Moments in the Middle is a series on Heartbreak's blog, the Heartbeat, featuring photography by Fidelis Teixeira curated by Marielle Hall. It's about defining those middle moments—the times that often go unnoticed but carry the weight of who we are and what we value. These are the moments of connection: to place, to community, and to each other. Learn more here. You can search more on the blog here.
